Change4Change
Change for Change is a quarterly mission. Change is collected to help a specific need. Many times this is for natural disasters or immediate needs in the community.
Our name is Desert Mission for a reason.
Serving our neighbors isn’t a program — it’s who we are.
From feeding families in Scottsdale, to supporting homeless seniors in Phoenix, and helping across the globe...our congregationshows up.
Here is what we are doing right now:

Don’t throw them away, bring them to church today! Funds we raise from them help to pay for shipping care packages to Our troops!! Thank you for your help with this awesome opportunity.

A team will head down to Honduras this April to help build a new library and shelve books for a public school that currently does not have the resources it needs.
The average cost of a book is $7. If you wish to help provide books, click the donate button! This is an ongoing mission.
WE RISE BY LIFTING OTHERS - WHENEVER THE CHANCE ARISES!

One of the Missions we provide financial and other support to is the Golden Gate Community Center which is known for its health center for the impoverished population in South Phoenix. Wesley also provides after-school programs for children and many other programs supporting the local community. As many as 7,000 individuals are served.
You can help by volunteering as needed for after-school programs, tutoring, etc. and supporting families at Christmas.

United Methodist Outreach Missions (UMOM) is a local Phoenix faith-based center helping move families as well as single women out of homelessness. We donate funds to purchase meals for the Halle Women’s Center located at 3424 E. Van Buren Street in Phoenix. We also collect clothing and can arrange for the pickup of furniture to furnish their temporary housing.

The Justa Center is a daytime outreach program for homeless seniors. The streets are not safe for homeless individuals in general, but older people are particularly vulnerable. Justa Center is a day resource center for those individuals over the age of 55 who need a place to live and who have few resources and even fewer friends and family members on whom they can count for help.
DMUMC supports Justa Center with cash donations and “wished for” items as needed by the facility.

Desert Mission volunteers support HopeKids which provides ongoing events and activities and a powerful, unique support community for families who have a child with cancer or some other life-threatening medical condition. Our activities include prayers for the kids, personal notes of support, participation in sponsored events in a volunteer capacity, and offering special gifts at various times.
All are welcome to join us in this very meaningful ministry to our community.

Desert Mission volunteers support the Sunshine Dog Rescue. Their mission is rescuing medium to large breed dogs & puppies from high kill shelters & unsafe conditions. They give each animal proper vet care, vaccinations, rehabilitation, microchip & basic training to secure their future in a furever home. We gather different items throughout the year to provide toys, food, blankets, towels, and whatever the rescue asks from us.
Every month there is a group of folks who head down to help pack food. We turn hunger into hope with your own two hands by packing nutritious meals for hungry children around the world.
