Community Connection ~ July 19, 2026: Add to Our Can!

Over the next few weeks, we invite you to add to our stash of prayer sticks! This is a prayer strategy that has been shared during Community Connection time in the past - each stick is simple prayer prompt that can be pulled and prayed over at any time. We keep two cans in the Sunday School classroom, one with blank sticks, the other with our prayer concerns. Pulling sticks is part of our regular “closing prayer” rotation, and we’d love your help adding to it! In the church lobby, on the table with the yellow flowers, are our cans, along with a handful of Sharpies. Grab a blank stick, add your name OR one of your own prayer concerns to the stick, and add it to the can labeled “PRAYERS.” Not only will this reinvigorate our stash of prayer sticks, it will also integrate the children more deeply into this community, helping them feel more connected to the adults they see each week and creating a shared language of prayer. And even when the cans move back into the Sunday School classroom, we invite you to pop in and add a stick whenever you feel moved to do so!
