Community Connection ~ April 20, 2025: Easter Question Ball!

Happy Easter! In honor of the joyful, celebratory side of this day, we wanted to share with you a fun activity that you can revisit over and over with the people you love - on Christmas, July 4th, a random Thursday…all of these are great opportunities to use the QUESTION BALL!

The Question Ball is literally a ball - a beach ball, to be exact. Fill it up (we recommend using an air pump if you’ve got one - trust us) and use a Sharpie to write numbers from 1 to 20 at random intervals around its surface. Next, gather your questions! There are lists of “ice breaker” questions for every occasion available on the internet; for Easter, we like this list from Of the Hearth. You can also add your own questions into the mix - include both fun and serious questions, questions that appeal to the full range of ages you’ll be playing with, and questions that invite both shorter and longer answers. As you play, you’ll get a feel for the ones that work best for your group. Label your questions from 1 to 20 as well.

Playing Question Ball is easy - toss the ball to someone and whatever number is facing them, or nearest to their thumbs (or whatever other rule you invent), that’s the question they have to answer. After they’re done, they’ll toss the ball to someone else, and so on until you feel like you’re done. If someone lands on the same number, it’s okay! Their answer will probably be different anyway. Of course, you can also add other rules to the game to make it unique to your group.

If you don't have a beach ball, or would prefer not to have one thrown in your home, you can also put the questions on slips of paper and stuff them into Easter eggs, then pass a basket around for everyone to draw from. But never underestimate the power of a flying beach ball to inspire laughter, connection, and joy!

If you play Question Ball with your people, we’d love if you’d share your own pictures, stories, or favorite questions! You can connect with us on Facebook or Instagram.
